Wheel of Fortune Question....
« on: June 25, 2007, 08:26:23 PM »
I was going through a set of unmarked tapes, and ran across one which had a 1997-1998 episode of 'Wheel of Fortune' from a roadtrip to Las Vegas.  This particular show ended after three rounds, with no speedup round whatsoever.

My question: Was this a rare occurance?

I'd say yes, if only because I was a rabid Wheel watcher for quite some time, and I can't remember a single episode, once the show went all-cash, where they didn't play a fourth round. (Doesn't mean it didn't happen a few times, but it would've been very rare.)

I've heard of at least one occurence of this; maybe it was this episode.

May I ask how was it paced?  Just want to know.

I recall an Ohio road trip episode (I believe it was one of the first of the 1997-98 season) that only went three rounds. They took a commercial after round 1, and the rounds afterward went so slowly, they had to play speed up in the middle of round 3.

/Why I remember this, I have no idea.

I think I remember this episode, but I only remember it once. Was it a special show, like a celeb show or something?

[/quote]It was just on in the background...I'll watch it again later and see.  It didn't seem out of the ordinary until Pat said "uhhh....we're out of time."

I might work on posting a clip.
