Wow...that'd make him the Don Francisco of the HS quiz circuit (Francisco has said that he'll continue to do Sabado Gigante until the day he dies, incidentally). :-)

I've been watching It's Academic since 2001, and I've always enjoyed it. (I have the first ever episode I watched on tape...yes, it still played/looked/sounded exactly the same.) Mac's a genuinely nice guy; after a taping I attended, I told him I wanted to become a game show host. He gave me a few pointers, and wished me good luck.

Interesting note: Ohio's Academic Challenge uses an almost-exact copy of the DC It's Academic format. The only difference is that AC offers a bonus in round 2 for getting all the questions right, IA does not.
