An update: Ces Marciuliano reports in his new blog that GSN loved the bit...and sent him one of their buzzers.
Perhaps -and maybe I'm just crazy, or naive, or on pain medication - GSN is starting to "get" that to pretty much everyone, they're still "Game Show Network", and who knows - maybe they'll actually embrace it for once instead of trying to convince people the network is something it isn't.
They were never a top 10 cable network running the old stuff, but they weren't with the casino or reality experiments either. In pretty much every programming format they've ever had, they've hovered in the lower third of the Top 50 cable networks, or just outside the T50. And they probably never WILL be a top 10 or probably even top 25 network, no matter how many 2nd tier poker shows or failed 2000 game shows they acquire. In a 5 billion channel universe, perpetual rankings in the 40s aren't
that bad.
