I think he's going to do a great job with the show. He seems to have a grasp of what the show means to people, yet he doesn't have the fanboish draw that some fans wanted- which wouldn't have helped the show one bit. I think that now Barker's gone (and I love how he gently and respectfully explained why changes haven't happened these last 35 years) the show is moving forward to a new era.

Did I mention he's funny?

I'm gonna be quite honest...I'm pretty damn sick of the fanb0iz acting as if they're the only ones whose opinion matters. There's a post over at G-R where the poster says that he doesn't care about what the "apologists" have to say. I have a serious problem with such a narrow-minded, "I'm right, anyone who disagrees is WRONG!!1!" mentality, esp. when the man hasn't even hosted his first episode yet.

/and they'll be the first ones watching the season premiere!

I have found that those very same narrow-minded people are the very first people to demand the smack be laid down on me when I tell them they are incorrect because "they have a right to an opinion."

Another reason Our Benevolent Moderators are to be lauded, since I'm still here, much to the chagrin of some.

Did anyone catch Drew saying he's going to tape two shows per day, four days per week (a total of eight shows per week)? He says he thinks there are 38 weeks in a season.

He's also going to continue using the Neumann mic that Barker used, but that it will have a wireless transmitter. They like the slender mic because it doesn't block the contestants' faces. Never mind that Barker's Neumann has a windscreen on it the size of a basketball.

That's what she said.

Carey was also on WOGL in Philadelphia, but I don't know if it's recorded.

I saw it. First time I ever used the word "fanbois" in a posting. Hand to god.

I liked how not only Drew talked about using the wireless and riffing on why Bob didn't like to use it, but also tied it into a story about how his mother still had a rotary phone years after the world went touch-tone.

Unfortunately I missed "Power of 10" tonight... was under the bathroom sink changing out a faucet. I'm sure CBS will put it online.

EDITED TO ADD: CBS indeed has the first episode online. Go to cbs.com/primetime/powerof10 and click on Video.
