You could still see WOF in LA in 83, but it was the NBC version.  Eventually the syndication version made it to LA, albeit on Channel 13.  Then again, you could say the syndicated version was seen in LA (Burbank) before it was seen anywhere else.  You just needed to be in the studio audience to see it.

On the other hand, Blyden WML was still showing on KDOC in Orange County in 1983, so that makes up for the absence of WOF.

As one of the few people on this group who collect TV Guides, going through all of them would still not cover every market and year.  But if you limit the list by decade and market-we could get a halfway decent start to it.  So to help you out here are some random memories for a few shows:

Raleigh/Durham (NC State 1988-1992):

WPTF-28 ran Quiz Kids Challenge, Jackpot! and Finn's Jokers Wild
WRAL-5 had The Challengers, Wipeout and Sweehearts
WYED-17 (now WNCN) ran Talkabout
WGGT-48 Greensboro ran Reagan's Lingo

Prior to that, I grew up in the Tri-Cities TN market, and had to endure snowy pictures off antenna to see some of the syndie shows.  Some details:

Tri-Cities TN:

WKPT-19 ran Face the Music, Dating Game, Matchmaker
WJHL-11 had $100K Name that Tune, Headline Chasers, syndicated Win Lose or Draw, Larry Anderson's TorC, '80s Newlywed Game, Liars Club
WCYB-5 was the Wheel/Jeopardy! outlet, also Family Feud, '70s Newlywed Game, Cross-Wits
WETO-39 (now WEMT) ran $100,000 Pyramid

Knoxville TN:

WBIR-10 ran Wink's High Rollers, Rafferty's Card Sharks and $1M Chance of a Lifetime.  
WATE-6 Knoxville TN had Catch Phrase.  
WTVK-26 was the nearest source to see all the noontime NBC offerings, like Chain Reaction and Go!

Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville:

WYFF-4 had Wayne's Tic Tac Dough and, IIRC, Bullseye.
WSPA-7 ran The Guinness Game and I've Got A Secret
And then WLOS-13 had their local origination Bowling For Dollars

Greensboro/Winston-Salem:

WGHP-8 had Garagiola's Strike It Rich
WFMY-2 ran Every Second Counts

Charlotte:

WPCQ-36 Charlotte NC ran Rayburn's Break the Bank and 3rd Degree IIRC
WSOC-9 was my nearest ABC to catch Bruce Forsyth's Hot Streak

I'd weight the results based on the rarity of the show, when picking a "better" market.

I'd say LA, as they had lots of local game shows as well as everything in syndication and the networks.

Early versions of shows like Seven Keys, You Don't Say and Joker's Wild actually ran in LA before going national.

I got a C-band satellite dish in 1992 which enabled me to see "wild feeds" of syndicated shows in advance.  Oh how I would have loved to have one in the mid-80s (around the time these shows started being fed via satellite).  There were still lots of good shows that were never seen in my area (such as Wink's High Rollers, for example) that I could have seen that way.

Oh well...it's nice to dream!

Now that Barker has finally retired with his replacement chosen and most of us have given up all hope of ever seeing "Spin-Off" again, is this what we're reduced to?
