It doesn't come out and say it has episodes with Chuck Woolery and Vanna White's appearance...The show's first road trip to NYC was in the 1988-1989 season, which we know GSN has.

I would LOVE to be proven wrong...And will gladly eat my serving of crow...But what I see airing in Wheel's Marathon are some minor clips of Woolery and White's early appearance, along with full episodes from the 1988-1989 season.

Excellent point.  Skepticism returns (sorry, Pyramid80).

Guess we'll find out Saturday.

Now, I'm feeling a bit skeptic!  :-)  I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

On the other hand, it doesn't insist it's going to be a short clip, either.

It does, however, make sense that GSN would go out of their way (if they even had to) to show a Woolery episode if one was available, since this would be a rare chance to please us fanatics and (far more importantly) give the host of one of their originals some extra promotional exposure.  I'm thinking surely they wouldn't have bothered mentioning Chuck in the release if they weren't planning to show an entire show.

What you are saying absolutely makes sense. It would be neat for them to show Woolery back in the day, who is now known for hosting one of their originals. Like I said, I would love to be proven wrong with this. I will be absolutely thrilled if they show a Woolery episode! However, I also am remembering that this is the network who treated TPiR with just still images in their "countdown".

"Freakin' Studs" was also still images.  It's just that we mentioned it so much that you may *think* that they showed it.

Actually, I will respectfully disagree.  Knowing how GSN has operated in the recent past (specifically with regard to their 50 Greatest series), and knowing that this tribute isn't even going to be a prime time affair, it doesn't make sense that they would go out of their way to acquire unusual product for it, especially product that didn't feature Merv himself.

Naturally, I hope I'm wrong.

Sunday’s “Jeopardy” marathon includes “The $1,000,000 Masters Tournament of Champions” episodes.
"Includes"? It's five hours. The M$MT was ten episodes. At 1/2 hour each, that comes to ... mumble, mumble, carry the two  ... five hours. And the last two shows started the Grand Slam Champions marathon.

This is still a damn sight better than they've done in the past.

I know it's been previously stated that GSN only has the syndicated shows, but we don't know this for sure.  It's possible that they could have had the NBC shows (and whatever exists from Woolery) all along and just elected not to run them.

It wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened...

Hey Bobby, maybe my sarcasm alert bell didn't sound on your computer, but when I wrote "/ducking", I was being sarcastic about my post.
