August 16, 2007 -- Pat and Dawn Kiernan knew what they wanted: A sort of private home with lots of space and a backyard. And they wanted it in an apartment building on the Upper West Side.
Pat's job as morning anchor of NY1 meant he had to be at the Chelsea TV studio by 4 in the morning, so a quick subway ride was a necessity. He and Dawn, director of marketing at American Express, decided to create their dream home out of some rooftop space. That's how they found themselves on top of a 1920s building just off Broadway.
