In what I think is a first for Australian TV - the host of the American version of "Singing Bee", former 'N Sync member, Joey Fatone - will also be fronting the Australian version of the show - which premieres this Sunday evening. Apparently - they couldn't find any local talent who they thought was suitable for the role.

The decision took Joey by surprise

I don't believe that any locally-produced shows have ever been hosted by a foreign presenter before.

Mr. Powney is referring to his native Australia. Many American shows have been hosted by people from other countries.
