Nothing more to add here; just wanted to ask and I don't get any inside information from CBS on things like this; wouldn't know where to look either.

I'd just as soon CBS showed Barker's first TPIR. (I mean, everybody's got the finale, haven't they?)

They couldn't air it anyways; a fur coat was offered.

To answer the original question: Yes.  Bob's last TPIR will indeed air this Friday, per CBS' website.

And that alas will probably also keep it out of the DVD set that will be released next year (and even those of us who have it could use the quality upgrade).

Speaking of which, I am hoping that there isn't a high ratio of episodes post-1986 or therabouts in the set.

I am hoping for anything to be honest, VHS or even direct digital recordings wont match commerical DVD's whatever the episode.

woot-woot.

Meanwhile, I'm still hoping they drop in one Cullen episode.  If they can drop the original Match Game pilot into that DVD set, surely they could do this for me.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.

I dunno, Matt.  I know you're thought highly of in certain circles, but to do that just for you?

Any game show release on DVD is always welcome regardless of which episodes, but a minor preference in terms of hoping that the 35 year run is given an even dispersal of episodes overall so that fans of one era more than another don't feel shortchanged, is itself a reasonable thing to hope for.

I am not however naive enough to wish for seeing a James episode, let alone a Kennedy one, be included in the set, since those chances are less remote than seeing a fur coat episode I would think.

Exactly how one isn't a "voice of reason" for expressing a minor preference regarding what gets potentially put on DVD I will never know.

All I was saying was that remlap's attitude was a refreshing change from what we usually get when this topic comes up, which is more often than not some fanb0i-who-doesn't-think-he's-a-fanb0i spouting "OMG if they have any white-haired episodes on there, I am NOT buying it and I will be picketing both DCI and CBS! And they better have the classic El Zilcho episode, too! Or else! What? Are you kidding?!?! EVERYONE knows what El Zilcho is!"

No judgement on your preference was implied. :)
