On this day, Nov. 7, 1990, there was the biggest moment where Thomas Van Dyke goes for his 12th bonus end game on TJW90 and won the $17,500 Joker's Jackpot, this was the last time the Joker's Jackpot was won in the original self-contained "money on the screens in the main game" format and the 11/8/90 show was where Thomas Van Dyke got defeated on his 13th and last show he appeared on as a contestant.

On November 9, the Carson Mint released its own line of commemorative dinner plates in remembrance of this event, a true milestone in game show history.

Perhaps we all need to be Avant Garde and search for another way out of this.

And when the jackpot was won, the President came on the air and told the people, "Our long national nightmare is over".

Truly a historic moment in our nation's history.

Yeah, in 1990.

Incidentally, that's the highest the Joker's Jackpot has ever been.

No, there was actually a $36K win much later in the season, although the contestant who won it could've been a bit more excited.

I don't think that a $36K win can be higher than a $36K win. But The Joker's Wild was not a game of mathematics, so it's possible.
