Without turning this into a political debate, take a look at this...

Match Your Candidate Game

What are the odds that Score Productions, Fremantle, or whoever's in control of the rights allowed the use of some vaguely familar music during the intro and in the game?

I doubt they know about this. But what do I know. I can not see them approving something like this. Even the graphics are very familiar.

My guess is.... There is no way in hell that was cleared either by Score or Fremantle.  I'm not in the mood to play snitch, so I'm just going to pretend I never saw that. The rest of you are free to do whatever makes you feel good.

This isn't much different than the TPIR online game with several common cues (widely available, unautorized), Crystal Waters theme (who apparently got the theme unauthorized), and Grand Theft Auto (which doesn't use TPIR cues, but does use the \"TPIR\" font)

Tell who? If they go after one, they have to go after everybody and I don't think they want to do that, nor do they care. I do believe, however, if this was on TV, it would be a different story.

Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

You might need to ask Ariana's friend Al Franken that ;-)

I can't imagine that TPiR has any kind of exclusive rights to the Pricedown font.

SO not true.  The police don't have to go after every speeder, the RIAA doesn't have to go after every illegal downloader.

My impression is that it might in this case, although using copyrighted music without permission is tricky business, especially these days.

At any rate, the \"quiz\" link is no longer on Arianna's site.  I guess it's possible somebody put up a stink, but my guess is that since she's decided she's no longer a candidate, that particular game wasn't necessary.

 I should clarify.

If they go after one, it makes sense to go after the others. Doesn't make sense to go just after one.

Point taken.

Cool.  I heard once that Playboy had somebody in their legal department whose only job was to patrol the internet, look for copyright infringements (typically nudie scans) and threaten the offending webmaster.

In the first place, imagine whispering THAT job to John Daly!  But more to your original point, I wonder where the break-even point for something like that is.  I mean, how does a company decide which copyright offenses are worth going after, and which are allowed to slide?  A few small-potatoes examples have been mentioned here at the Forum in the last few days, including that public-access Family Feud ripoff.  But where are the BIG-potatoes examples?

I would think the Playboy job would involve big potatoes.

Well, it may be gone now, since Ariana has dropped out of the race.
