Even without the lack of highlighting, I would've had this on 2 clues.  Hopefully the powers that be will dig into the Merv Griffin's Crosswords dictionary and pull out some of the arcane words I've seen on that show.  Leanto?  Never heard of it until I saw it twice in a week on MG's CW, and again that weekend on one of The Discovery Channel's survival shows.

/When writing out the check for the million, my last name has 2 S's.  kthx

Really? Huh. I remember it being referenced in one of the Danny Dunn books I used to read when I was little.

Never, even in the ~6 years I was in scouting, not that Cub/Boy Scouts would use leantos on a regular basis.

We made lean-tos all the time when I was in Scouts. Not that they accomplished anything. I think the Scoutmaster was really into survival techniques.

Apparently.  My Scoutmasters, initially a good friend's father and then my dad, are definitely not survivalists.  They're the type who brought a battery-powered TV to the week-long summer camp.  Talk about roughing it, without cable and all. :-D

Don't. You don't know the format, "I" don't know the format, "THEY" don't know the format yet.

It should surprise nobody here to know that my very first criteria when selecting a hotel room is whether they provide Internet access.

I do not camp. :)

A true survivalist would bring a sat dish. "You boys want to learn how to aim a satellite dish?" That's an important skill right there.

MOIL

If you mean mohel, that's a so-so clue for circumsize.  Otherwise, it's a desperation clue which could easily confuse your partner.

And if you're confusing circumsize with circumnavigate...ow.

On to my real point: on the older versions, would a non-sensical clue such as "mohel" garner a buzz, or was it just the Winner's Circle where clues had to be logical?
