Merv Griffin Enterprises logo question

OK, so I know that MGE changed its logo from the winking griffin to the logo with the cloud background sometime in the 92-93 season, but there are two things I'd like to know, and maybe some of you who have tapes of Jeopardy! and/or Wheel of Fortune from that season could help.

1) Exactly when did the logo change occur?  If I can't get an exact date or week, then I'd at least like to know whether it was in late '92 or early '93.

2) Did the winking griffin logo have a byline that said \"A Sony Pictures Entertainment Company\" during its last few weeks/months?

 1) I believe it was the 1993-94 season.

2) No.

3) Those are just my best guesses.  You'll get a more definitive answer here.

Wow we really have changed!  A logo question, and no witch hunts! I guess the CLG has come a long way, baby  ;-) ;-)

Anyway, I actually think the Sony byline DID appear on the winking griffin for a time.  IIRC one of my CLG Megamix tapes does have this variation.

If I can remember my memory and I'm sure Jamie Locklin will answer this, the Griffin eye closure animation logo was gone sometime in February 1993 just when Jeopardy! began its 7th annual Teen Tournament and when the 1993 Teen Tournment was over, the logo was changed into the logo with cloud background, when I saw a closing of Wheel of Fortune from a January 29, 1993 episode, the helvetica font was gone and their newly updated version of the theme music wasn't heard during the closing and brought back their previous theme music during the closing and it still shows us the MGE eye closure animation logo.

You really need to stop speaking for other people (not to mention reviving 2 1/2 year old posts).

Aaron's post could have truncated after six words and still been perfectly valid.

Didn't Merv change his logo briefly to a winking Denny Terrio?

No no, he changed his briefs before a winking Denny Terrio.

Other way around. Randy set up the pass, but Matt clearly put the puck in the back of the net.

I knew something sounded backwards about that...changed it up.

I remember that some of the 1993 regular eps. also used the 1989 theme in place of the '92 theme! COOOOL!!!
