Something along the lines of Ira Skutch seems to be a happy medium.  He was the (executive) producer on a lot of those games in the era where game shows were better represented in the daytime and it was a good mix of shows.

Honorable mention goes to announcing and being a #1 (Olsen) or #2 (Wood) go-to guy for Goodson-Todman back in the day -- you always had a weekly paycheck and you usually had at least one different show to announce for each year, so the 'scenery' was always changing.

Ditto. And given that I just got into the business as an MCO and they're gonna train me in directing eventually/soon, if things go my way, it won't be just a dream forever.

Considering that it was the glitz, flashing lights, and eggcrate displays that attracted me to this genre at a very early age, I would love to be a set designer.  Late 70's to early 80's era.  Everything from stage, podiums, to even what color of cards the host would read from.  Sky's the limit.

Here's my order of preference:

TPIR host from the 70's & 80's when the show was at its purest form.
Announcer of most G-T shows like TPIR, MG & Tattlerales.
Question writter(though I might have to work as an independent instead of being affiliated with the WGA.  Screw that union!).
Running those cool 70's solari boards on shows like Jackpot! & Celebrity Sweepstakes.

Nobody's said the obvious - lawyer for Barker's Beauties? It'd make you more money than working ON a game show, I'm sure.

That said...I'd prefer to be a suave, witty panelist on a 50s or 60s panel show.

It's kind of a toss-up for me.  I love being an emcee when I get the chance, and I think I do it pretty well.  If I were to host, I'd prefer a show with more spontaneous interaction and less rote recitation of questions or clues, so I guess I'd pick TPIR (preferably 1972 and later), Family Feud, Truth or Consequences, or Let's Make a Deal.  On the other hand, I really enjoy being the creator of the shows I host as well, so maybe LMAD is the best choice for me.  As Monty Hall, I could do both!
