Double Dare '76

I have been unable to find an episode guide for DD'76, and I would like to know the original airdates of the episodes that aired from 1 to 2 AM on Monday morning. The contestants on the first ep were Gary and Lee; Lee won and went on to defend in the second ep, where he lost to Julie. Gene Wood announced on both, so I'm assuming these are from some point in 1977. Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming the eps. were the Monday and Tuesday eps. since there were a new set of Spoilers, the original air dates should be 1/17/77 and 1/18/77.

Odd question: were these episodes the first ones where Gene Wood announced?  The intro to Sunday night's episodes sure sounded like Card Sharks. (Yes I know it's the same music....just no Johnny O)

Is it me or was something skipped this weekend?  I've only seen the first one, but they were definitely different players than the game left in progress last weekend.

It's not you.  It appears that one episode was skipped.  Both episodes had the same set of Spoilers as the episodes from last weekend.

It's not you.  It appears that one episode was skipped.  Both episodes had the same set of Spoilers as the episodes from last weekend.

I wondered what Ray Winston was doing there when I didn't see him come on last weekend.  He was the player who actually had a network promo for the show built around him, doing great in the main game but always failing against the Spoilers.  I don't recall if he ever won the big bucks.

According to the PDF schedules at Steve Beverly's site, last week's shows were #26 and #27.  This week's were #30 and #31, meaning 2 episodes were skipped for whatever reason.

Either the episode numbers are in error, or they filmed six eps with the same set of Spoilers.

Yes. I found them on tape from 10 years ago. Here's the skinny (champion is listed last):

ep #28 - Richard vs. Julie
ep #29 - Joan vs. Julie
ep #30 - Ray vs. Joan
ep #31 - Lyn vs. Ray

Yes. Yes he was. Funny story about that. He was on Sale of the Century in 1983, and was later deemed to be ineligible. He sued to get what he won from the network, to no avail.

Why exactly was he ineligible? NBC's rules stated that one couldn't be more than three game shows in their lifetime. On his application Ray mentioned Split Second in '73 and 3 For The Money in '75...but left out Double Dare.

The case is Winston v. National Broadcasting Co. (1991). It shows up on FindLaw, but registration's required there.
