I'm not sure about this, but I get the feeling that Barker got more than one offer to do this, and he figured (or his publicity people figured) that this offer would be the best for his "image." Possibility, yes?

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Well, it makes perfect sense if the other offer was from, say, Chris Hansen. ;-)

Do you mean Chris Mann, who has been working on his tell-all for a couple of years now? Chris Mann has cultivated some good sources who are free to speak (i.e. not bound by non-disparagement clauses in legal settlements). I was interviewed by Chris and gave him some background on the inner workings of G-T and TPIR to the extent that I knew them. He asked me specifically about Barker and the models and I didn't have anything to give him as that all took place after I left the company (Dorothy Jo was still alive but passed away about a year later). I was not about to give Chris hearsay information simply to make myself come off as an expert on something I'm not.
Anyhoo, I have a feeling Barker's collaborator is going to write exactly the kind of memoir Barker likely wants to see written: highly sanitized and casting Barker in none but the most favorable light. As an aside, I'm told Barker had to approve Stan's book before he would consider writing the introduction.
(Note to attorneys for Bob Barker: The above statements are my opinion and you can't sue me for that.)
