Yes, the Rischiatutto aired from 1970 to 1974.    He also hosted the revamped version from 1987 to 1992 titled "TeleMike".    

After hosting a couple dozen assorted gameshows, now he's semi-retired.  He still does a lot of advertisement on TV.

Italians call any joker "jolly" because early imported playing cards had jokers with "The Jolly Joker" printed on them, and people believed that the guy was named Jolly

Apologies for posting the Dutch 1 vs. 100 rules again.  (I didn't see CountdownRound's post.)

Speaking of the Dutch, their version of Lingo is played somewhat differently from ours.

1.  First off, they use 6-letter words Mondays through Thursdays, and 7-letter words on Fridays.  ("IJ" counts as one letter.)
2.  Each Lingo board starts with only 8 numbers marked off.
3.  Just like our show, the team in control gets up to 5 chances to guess the word.  However, after any guess, if their opponents think they know the word, they can buzz in and interrupt with a guess of their own.  If they're right, their score is doubled.  If not, they lose half their score and the team whose turn it is gets a bonus letter.
4.  Each word is worth 25 points and adds €100 to the jackpot, which a team can claim by pulling all three green balls from their hopper.  If they draw one, they get another pull.  The hopper also has three stoppers and one question mark ball--you know what they do.  A horizontal or vertical Lingo scores 100 points, and a diagonal Lingo scores 150.
5.  After every 3 words, both teams are given a chance to solve a scrambled 10-letter word.  The word starts with 3 letters in their correct positions, and one by one, the letters will fall into place in a similar fashion to the speed round of Caesars Challenge.  Whoever rings in with the correct word will earn 10 points for each letter left unscrambled.
6.  The final word of the game is played one guess at a time--one team guesses, then the other team.  Whoever gets it earns 40 points and the right to pick two balls.  After that, one last 10-letter word is played as above.
7.  In Bonus Lingo, the winning team gets 2:30 to guess as many 6- or 7-letter words as possible.  Players must alternate guesses, and must make a guess within 8 seconds.  No bonus letters are available.  After this, they will try to complete their card, which has 10 numbers marked off so that it's possible to get a Lingo (and thus €5,000) on their first pull.  Win or lose, all contestants get their score in euros.
