in tonights  opening they showed a pic of pat  n vanna in fronrt of the old puzzle board

does anyone  know where it is now

I do believe that it was mentioned on Brad Francini's Wheel site that it's in the Smithsonian. It's a shame, I was there in 2004 and never bothered to look because I didn't know they had it in their possession until later!

I live in DC and I've never seen it on display at the American History museum.  I know it's part of their collection, though.  They must have it stored somewhere--it may not even be inside the District.

I'm imagining a janitor pushing the lit-up puzzleboard out of the supply closet with a puzzle reading "RESTROOM TEMPORARILY CLOSED".

I'll concur with that, living in DC too.  Maybe when the American History museum reopens after the renovation in the fall of 2008...
