Here's a little hint: Spamming a message board dedicated to game shows, where users are likely to be a little better informed about these things, with patently false claims like this just isn't going to work out well for you.

I felt like sharing the pwning wealth. ;-)

(As an aside, the OP posted it in three of our subforums, which screamed "SPAM" before I even read it.)

Yeah...um...this is somethin', isn't it?

I find it odd they have a secure server authentication tag at the bottom of their home page, but it's not a secured page...hmmm...

(Can we even prove this site existed in 2005 without Mr. Astroturfer telling us?)
When you're at the grocery game and you hear the beep, think of all the fun you could have at "Crazy Rachel's Checkout Counter!"

The name was first registered since 2000, so it's totally conceivable to place a 2005 date on there, even if they weren't doing live shows at the time.

When googling the username, it's pretty funny to see what comes up in the jobs he's gotten freelancers to do for him.. My favorite bid request:

"I need a website designed like digg.com with a few changes."
"You're never ready, just less unprepared."

They go to a staggering amount of effort to point out "there is nothing like this" considering, not even counting PlayCafe, that there are any number of websites where you can play games and win prizes.

Click on their "games" button and you'll see that the offerings are just TPIR pricing games with different names.   PlayCafe isn't radically original in their game selection either, but at least they're not such a brazen ripoff.  Of course, if these guys have gotten product manufacturers as sponsors, that puts them at least one step ahead of PlayCafe, which appears to continue to be running on seed money.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

Now, hold on a second. Technically, this isn't astroturf, since the guy made no bones about his direct affiliation with the site. If it was "Hey, I heard about this great site..." like we've gotten here in the past, THAT'S astroturf. This is spam.

If we're going to mock the chucklehead mercilessly and publically, let's at least be correct about it. :)

Um, whoops.  Got my bonehead terminology mixed up.  :)

And further reference, the site no longer comes up for me.  All I did was a computer switch...still using Firefox and still using Windows XP SP2.

Don't think it's you. I don't get it either, and IE throws an Error 500.

Lets see:

Checkout = It's in the Bag (in pricing principle)
Hi Lo = Hole in One pricing portion
On the Edge = Cliffhangers
Frugal Shopper = maybe Credit Card?
Go For It = maybe Shopping Spree?
I Don't Think So = One Wrong Price variant
Match Game = One Right Price
Bargain Hunter = Ezekiel's Bargain Bar
That's Not Rite = One Wrong Price
Deal Wheel = "Wheel of Fortune"
Pricing Game = lots of small-prize games (Punchboard comes to mind)
Raise the Bar = Range Game
WM# = Bullseye ('72)
Treasure Hunt = Fortune Hunter
*Price Match = Swap Meet
*Happy Days = Now or Then
*Press = Step Up variant

*coming soon
..yeah, reeks of ripoff.

..yeah, reeks of ripoff.[/quote]Granted, I can't smell (damn that anosmia!), but man alive, if there was ever a better Judgment for Plaintiff in an IP infringement suit, I haven't seen it.

Maybe I'm just overthinking this...but if they're gonna rip off It's in the Bag and Hole in One, don't you think they could at least fudge better names for them than "Check-Out" and "Hi Lo?"

No... no... I'm pretty sure it's just them underthinking it.
