Bob Barker's Lifetime Achievement award
« on: April 14, 2008, 08:49:15 PM »
Don't know if he'll find any shelf space for another trophy, but it was wonderful to see Barker doing what he does best, one more time, as he accepted the NAB's big honor this year.

For those who want to know the details...

Syd and Roger were on hand with a couple of others from the Bobtourage, as Billy Bush MC'ed the fete before what had to be a couple of thousand conventioneers. Syd had exec produced the BEST clip package for Barker I've ever seen... narrated by Happy Gilmore himself, Adam Sandler. Very funny, with many classic clips I'd not seen before, and many we have, going back to T or C, thru TPiR, and including the Gilmore footage.

Bob accepted with grace and class, and played Pinko and spun the Big Wheel with a few folks from the audience... they borrowed our set pieces and props from the TPiR-Live show in Vegas. I hear they closed the strip to roll the wheel from Bally's to the Hilton at 3AM with a police escort   ;-P

I shared some words with the Fremantlers, and Bob. He seemed sincerely touched by the honor, and was very gracious. I really enjoy talking with him every chance I've had. He's looking good, fit and tan, as always.

Now back to work!
