Yes. I had lunch with him when I worked the show. He's an actor, enjoying the steady work.

And to be totally clear (and fair) to the original question, while actor Peter Abbay is the person you see in the booth when the camera is pointed at "the banker", he doesn't really make the decisions that determine the bank offers.  Those decisions are made by producers, so in that sense, they're really "the banker".

A useless bit of trivia...

The Last time I was at Deal waiting for the electronics guys to wrap up, he was leaving his booth. I was apparently blocking the way for him and he said "Excuse me".
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS
