Fox Takes the 'Human Tetris' Show

The Japanese format "Hole in the Wall," produced here by Fremantle, will be somewhere on the Fox schedule next season (link includes wacky video from Danish version):

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/conten...00d30daa3ce9444

In most countries, contestants try to get through the holes and avoid the water for the hearty handshake and the warm glow of victory (if they haven't already gone into the drink).  Mike Darnell wants to add cash prizes to the mix (hopefully, low stakes).  He also wants to make the pool deeper and put other things in the pool besides water.  Knowing Darnell, I envision six African elephants with their rear ends hovering over the pool before taping.

You don't watch Fox much, do you?

Christ. Fox was never a bastion of high class (see Children, Married With), but I do remember a time when their name wasn't synonymous with "sensationalistic crap."

Probably. Do you remember a time when there was no Fox? If not, then yes.

How is Darnell going to shoehorn a money tree and three lifelines into this?

Money tree based on clears:

10 - $500,000
9 - $250,000
8 - $100,000
7 - $75,000
6 - $50,000
5 - $25,000
4 - $10,000
3 - $5,000
2 - $2,500
1 - $1,000

Lifelines of Stop The Board (halts the board for five seconds), Reset the Board (resets the board to the beginning), Break the Board (auto win).

I dunno. They haven't gotten to House or American Idol yet, at least.

This sounds like something that would be better as an event within another game, not something I want to watch for an entire episode. At least Unbeatable Bansuke has the different tests.
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

Classy or not, that show was awesome.

Though I have to ask, has fox ever had a real game show. (READ: not some outlandish idea like MoT)

"The Rich List," unless you consider that an "outlandish idea"...or maybe you don't consider it "had" if they only air one episode.

It's Your Chance of a Lifetime.

Since when do Don't Forget the Lyrics! and 5th Grader not count as game shows?

Well they named the hosts.... ...now if Brooke Burns does demonstrations of how to go through the walls, maybe we've got something....
