Looks like Harry is taking advantage of the recession. Personally, I think this is wrong.

The "Y" is the alternative.
When you're at the grocery game and you hear the beep, think of all the fun you could have at "Crazy Rachel's Checkout Counter!"

It's sad that it has to come to that now.

I think we should crash the Wheel tapings and convince them to go on "Price" instead.....It's still $1 to buy a car over there in Lucky $even - that cost hasn't changed in 35 years!

Actually, you can now get a car for as low as a quarter if you're lucky enough.

A quarter? Why, that's just pocket change.

That writer didn't do his research. Everyone knows that, adjusted for inflation from 1975, a vowel should be worth $1,040! That $600 is a bargain, people!1!!1 Sheesh!

Although, I do hear that, in honor of the rebate checks, the $600 vowel is now brought to you by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

(check sponsored items list)

Yup...the only thing NOT sponsored on Wheel now are Pat's bicuspids.

Exactly- remember all those LMAD episodes where you could buy a car for a penny?

but remember the economic downturn of the late 80s?   Vowel prices actually went DOWN for some to $200.  I think it's a case of greedy executives these days, nothing more.

I haven't watched the show in years, but isn't it the case that, depending on the puzzle, you can get multiple numbers of the same vowel for one price?  Get the most for your money and ask for vowels that might be in the puzzle multiple times.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

That hardly makes up for the fact that, sometimes, you don't get any vowels at all--and they still take your money! It's fraud, is what it is.

(I don't even want to get started on how no one in Washington is concerned about bailing out Bankrupted contestants.)

I feel that once you buy a vowel, it should be yours to keep.

What's most infuriating about this is that over and over again, we have heard Pat tell the contestants there are no more vowels in the puzzle, and in recent seasons they've even had a graphic on-screen to alert viewers of such an occurrence. This clearly demonstrates that they knew they had a finite supply of vowels and did nothing to prevent the shortage. The inaction of the staff is, in my estimation, a far greater crime.

Back in 1981, a few months before Woolery left Wheel (obligatory use of overused online game show fandom cliche!), there was an episode when Wheel of Fortune did run out of vowels.  Fortunately, Blockbusters was taping a few studios away.  Chuck and Susan went to the Blockbusters studio to snag some excess letters.  Those were some of the biggest vowel movements I've ever seen.
