How does the letter choosing in the bonus round work? Do you still get another consonant for every $2,000 you earn in the maingame (with the base two consonants and a vowel)? Or have they gone the American way (RSTLNE plus three consonants and a vowel)?

We've stuck with the old rules - you automatically get the option of two consonants and one vowel, plus an additional consonant for each $2,000 in winnings.

I have already sent a complaint to Today Tonight.[/quote]
Today Tonight?  Will this topic be on tomorrow's Today Tonight?

Where are Abbott and Costello when you need them?

In Australia, Today Tonight is a current affairs programme, much like 20/20.

And suddenly, the outside possibility of the whole thing being a joke just dropped.

(Well, no, Certainly it's a joke. Just not "funny-ha-ha," more like "funny-wow.")

I just thought of something.
If someone wins $A1,000,000, then they will automatically become the biggest winner ever on Australian TV.  I say this because (I assume this to be correct) whatever they banked in the previous rounds/shows they keep.

Debatable. There is always Trevor Sauer, who won 500K on WWTBAM and then won 750K on that obscure Quiz Master show (whose contestants were head-hunted former quiz show champs), so his combined winnings from TV appearances is 1.25 Million.

True, but that was from two shows.  One player could be the biggest winner ever on Australian TV from one show.

Why don't you give "National Nine News" a call and tell them to run an investigation on it?

No, but the current affairs programmes we have here usually profile the big quiz/game show winners.
As an example, every time someone became a "grand champion" on Temptation (after they won 7 or 8 shows) they get profiled on our version of "A Current Affair".
Mind you, sometimes these current affairs shows try and stir up trouble for the opposition.
