This doesn't seem to have been mentioned before: The webcomic NewGirl, which appears to be by a Canadian cartoonist, has a game show spoof called The Price Is Adequate. Warning: The webcomic is rated T+ under the Drunk Duck rating system.

I suppose you can still learn stuff on TLC, though it would be more in the Goofus & Gallant sense, that is (don't do what these parents did)"- Travis Eberle, 2012

I didn't think it was funny myself, but not all game show spoofs can be funny, I guess.

Actually, I went back a few days and forward a few days, and "game show spoofs" has nothing to do with it.  This is just a staggeringly unfunny strip.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

My Gawd, you're right. And the complete disregard for punctuation in the dialogue makes the baby Jesus cry.

/actually it makes me wonder if this is Booboo's comic

Never give me an opening...even if it is done in a crappy format.

Not to mention the characters who don't use any contractions in their speech for no apparent reason.

(Okay, so that's the least of the strip's problems, but it always baffles me when authors do that.)

The show's been on since 1972, people! You are not clever or insightful.

/Whew. Thanks for that. Here's your soapbox back.

And call me nitpicky if you must but it is clear that this so-called "cartoonist" really doesn't grasp the various elements of the one-bid...not only is the "one dollar" outbid seen as something sinister (when, in truth, it is likely the most strategic decision one can ever make when playing TPiR), the CLANG CLANG bells for an exact bid is sounded but is barely mentioned as to why it is a good thing but more importantly, could there have been more than the smallest handful of times in which the "one dollar" strategy actually resulted in that contestant bidding exactly right, getting the cash bonus and winning their way onstage?  I personally can't recall ever seeing it happen but in 35+ years, I certainly wouldn't rule it out either.   Point being, why even throw in the exact bid factor in this strip when that has never really been the point of some losers' attitudes about the "one dollar" snipe?

Now, if you'll excuse me, I will step away and take my 3rd Midol of the morning now...

I got a chuckle out of the 'can of tuna' bid, at least.
