See, San Francisco and San Jose kept it simple. At the start of the show, Pat McCormick (and whoever did it on KICU...Steve somebody, I think) hit a button on a randomizer that would then display the Count, which would stay static for that show. (The "two from the top" or "four from the bottom" thing.) Then the victim won if Pat called 'em and they could parrot back the count and the amount.
