Oprah has high influence here when WLS airs her twice (!) in one day...the first showing at 9am, with a rerun after Nightline. Nonetheless, these shows are power players, so it's good they stay where they are.

I believe Philly and NYC also do the Oprah after-hours thing as well...

Not my area where I live, but somewhere I *used* to live and still follow the syndication developments...Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

WNEP-16 (ABC): Still will air Millionaire at 4. 4:30, formerly "Temptation", will be the new home of "DoND".
WYOU-22 (CBS): Replacing the 3-4 "Family Feud" hour with Bonnie Hunt.
WBRE-28 (NBC): Still the home of WoF and J! from 7-8, just as they have been since '92.
WSWB-38 (CW): Half of the new home of the "feud", airing an episode at 5pm.
WQMY-53 (MY): An episode of "Crosswords" at 2pm, and the other half of "Feud" at 6:30pm.
WOLF-56 (FOX): No games.

Incidentally, "Feud" makes its debut on 38 and 53, after being on WNEP and WYOU and WBRE at different times since '99.

Well it looks like we can confirm one thing on WWTBAM- Someone posted a commercial of the new season, and at the very beginning you can see the player's screen- and the "Millionaire Menu" is there, so they will know the categories of the questions in their stack ahead of time- which makes the strategies increase a little..

Come the 22nd, we (WREX)'ll be airing the secondary Millionaire at 12:30, and the primary Millionaire at 2:00. That seems a little weird to show the double-run before the primary-run. Any precedent for that?
Okay...so we now have Millionaire at 12:30, Millionaire again at 2, Trivial Pursuit at 2:30, Deal or No Deal at 3, and I presume they're keeping Jeopardy and Wheel...and that's just what's on WREX.

Wow.
Jeopardy's actually moving from 4:30 to 3:30 to make way for The Doctors. Wheel stays put. And the second Millionaire is actually going to start off at 2:30 until Trivial Pursuit premieres on the 22nd, at which point it will move to 12:30. This shuffling all starts on the 8th -- if only syndicators could all agree on a single season-start date, then we wouldn't have to deal with this rollout schedule shuffling, it's as crazy for us as it is for viewers. Alas.

I thought of this a new way: look at the categories as a trade-off.

As a contestant, if the show gave me time limits every question, then I'd like a benefit to make up for that, something that might help me get in the right mindset prior to the question being read. And a category tree answers that limit fairly well.

It used to be that the new syndicated shows all started the week after Labor Day, and the new network primetime shows started the week after that.  In recent years, the network's "premiere week" has been much later in September than it ever used to be (for some reason), and the new syndie shows have scattered premieres.  Would be nice if there was some rhyme and reason to it.

Going back even further, there was a time when they ALL started the same week, but that was back in the mid '70s (...those childhood memories!)  It was great looking at the Fall Preview TVGuides back then and seeing so many new shows.

1pm (?): TP: America Plays (My 50 Chicago)
3:30 pm: Old Standby number 1 (Jeopardy!, ABC 7)

I just saw a promo for Feud on MY50 earlier this week, which makes things a little different?

Syndicated "Deal" will air in my area at 4 PM weekdays before the 4:30 PM news on WRIC-TV 8.

Unfortunately, WTVR-TV 6's 10 AM-11 AM schedule is screwed up. They only air "WWTBAM" on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 AM, and paid programming takes its place on the other three days of the week, while "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:30 AM, with paid programming taking its place on Tuesdays and Thursdays! This schedule is a throwback of sorts of the "checkerboard scheduling" for the earliest syndicated shows during the '70s.

Also of note, WTVR has picked up the best of "Crosswords" package for this season, and "Family Feud" won't be airing at all in the Richmond, VA area.

Okay, this just made bizarre.

Starting Sept. 8, most everything stays the same in my market.  Feud at 10 for 2, TPIR at 11, Temptation at 12 for 2, and Millionaire at 1 for 2.

Crosswords moves to WHME, the religious station, at 6:30 for one run.  This, I think, marks the first game ever on the station.

Through 8pm....Deal is nowhere to be found.  The Deal website says 7pm on the ABC affil, but they have Judge Judy there now.
Yeah, that post is now wrong.

Feud stays at 10.  (poor TPIR gets a Bonnie Hunt lead in my area.)
Temptation sacked for The Doctors at 12 (that's a TALK SHOW!?)
Double the Deal at 7.

Wheel/J! still at 7, and Crosswords at 6:30.  Millionaire at 1 as well.

I think TP:AP got shafted to late nite in my area.
When you're at the grocery game and you hear the beep, think of all the fun you could have at "Crazy Rachel's Checkout Counter!"
