I just thought its rather dishonest presenting...that they only have "big" winners when obviously it is not the case (no pun intended).
And you'd be absolutely correct.

But that's not an S&P violation.
Lemon is right, in that it is not an S&P violation. It does not violate the letter of the laws that govern game shows. I think it does violate the spirit, however. In principle, viewers expect that a contestant who answers correctly does so without help, and a contestant who answers incorrectly (or not at all) was genuinely unable to recall the right answer. The analogy on DonD is that viewers, in principle, expect that all 30!* ways of choosing the boxes have some chance of occuring.

*or 30! divided by 5! divided by a couple others, if you want to treat the multiple picks as single entities. Either way, the idea is the same.

You bet it does. But we've established right here on these very boards over the last few years that that spirit is long since dead. Get used to the idea.

I wish TP:AP would start taping very soon.  We're less than 2 months from launch(September 22) with no confirmed host(though it's presumed to be Christopher Knight), no official site & worse yet, no contestant casting calls outside of its question tours they've been hawking all summer.  I'm beginning to question Debmar-Mercury as a viable distributor of this show.  Maybe it should've been sold to CBS or Sony for "better" marketing.  Oh well.

The other day, Berman did one of his lists of syndicated game show ratings and said something like "please note that 'Temptation' has been cancelled and 'Merv Griffin's Crosswords' is on hiatus."

Well, there you go...Twentieth did nothing to promote the show, and now they've done nothing to confirm its cancellation. I guess we'll see the show again in another 18 years. :-P

In fairness, would that have helped? The show ate a bag of Dick's.

Not at all. It's almost like they realized as much and tried to let the show fade off as quietly as possible, which is about as much as you can expect with a 0.5 rating.

And in New York, it takes the 4PM slot that Ellen DeGeneres now has on WNBC. Don't know if it's single run or not, but wouldn't be surprised if it isn't.

Considering what happened to the LAST game show that aired there...

Interesting.  In my area, it's up against Wheel and replaces Judge Judy.

I sense epic fail in northern IN for Deal.

Looks like Des Moines will be getting the Syndie Deal action on the local CW station, KCWI 23

/This will mark the first time in my life I'll watch CW voluntarily.
