Oh, and Kerry Wood is on the DL.  Again.

And in other news, it's hot in Arizona.  :)

At least the Cubs won't go 0-for-Florida (they hadn't beaten the Marlins since April 2006).

And to continue the dandy one's attempt to get back ObGS, how far away are we from McKee's first appearance?

Ah, but it's a dry heat.  ;-)

Getting back to the subject of this thread, does Don give the winners bouquets of vegetables as on the $1.98 Beauty Show?

Regrettably, no, my dear Fedya. We're on a shoestring budget this time.
They will, however, receive lots of love. Matt O. will receive a special hug just so I can touch The Presence.

Or perhaps he'd rather have an autographed picture.
I have one of Willard Scott that he's welcome to.

Well, the Cubs and Brewers are tied (and the Brew Crew has a ton of momentum--or as CAESAR'S CHALLENGE host Ahmad Rashad so eloquently put it:  memontum).

Forget the World Series (and winning 100 games), there's now question about whether the Cubs can hold off the Mets and Phillies (and Cardinals) for the wild-card.

On the way to 200 years of futility.

Yeah, well your team hasn't lost over 10,000 games have they? Bring back Bake McBride! I'm sure Darren Dalton is between alien encounters. When I'm bored, I might just have to try and figure out the cost of each Ryan Howard strikeout. It's gotta be between $6,000 and $8,000.

Is that one of the new prizes to be offered on "Check Game" this coming season?

/Whoops, wrong thread.

Well played, well played.

(Isn't it amazing that the White Sox hadn't won a World Series in 88 years, finally won one three years ago, and STILL don't get any respect?)

One ex-Cub going deep off another ex-Cub.  Seems the secret for the Cubs to make it to a World Series is to leave.

I've always maintained you could dress the 1927 Yankees in Cub uniforms and the 1927 Cubs in Yankee uniforms and the team wearing the Yankee uniforms would win.

/Yes, I know the 1927 Cubs didn't make the World Series.  The point is still there.

I've heard of "it's gotta be the shoes"...never so much of "it's gotta be the uniform"...

Best ELO album that also shared its title with a game show was "Face the Music."
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.
