I think that with inflation, the top prize should be increased to $1,267,000. This change has been a long time coming.

I wish they would bring back the old phone qualifying contests again, or at least some sort of live, internet test like what Jeopardy! has done in the past.  

Let's give Jane & John Doe in Anywhere, USA an equal of a shot at getting on as those who either live in NYC and can stop down to audition or those who wait in long lines at cattle calls in select cities.

/Nowadays, if you can afford the cost of an airline ticket, rental car and gas to get to an open audition, you probably don't need the million.

Or maybe re-instate the $10,000 per show where the jackpot isn't won - retroactive to the last time it was won.  Gee...after 5 years, what would it be up to now?
