News from
TMZ.com states that at a recent taping of
The Price is Right, the Plinko board had been altered to allow chips to land in the $10,000 space each time for a filming of an ad for the upcoming video game. However, when it came time to play the game later in the day, it turns out they never "un-rigged" the game! After a woman dropped the chip into ten grand territory three times, the producers finally figured out what happened.
They stopped tape, told the contestant what happened, and reset the game. Afterwards, she "fairly" won $3,000. However, being the kind lawsuit-avoiding souls that they are, they also gave her the $30,000 from the above incident for a grand total of $33,000.
According to the article, the mistake footage will be cut from the show. Still, not bad.
