Buzzerblog reports that Richard Karn is the new host of Bingo America.

I think he'd do well...I enjoyed him on Feud, and think his enthusiasm would be a good fit for the show.

Bad move.
I suppose you can still learn stuff on TLC, though it would be more in the Goofus & Gallant sense, that is (don't do what these parents did)"- Travis Eberle, 2012

Not a bad move, I think it will be a step up from Patrick Duffy.

Until he decides to double the spaces, of course.

Duffy was one of my few sore spots about Bingo America previously so this is a welcome change to me...I actually found myself trying to go out of my way to watch it sometimes (even though I never played the home game ._.) but he was just out of his element.

Not to mention my feelings that Karn was better than he was given credit for on Feud... yeah, I like this.

Bad move.

RIGHT ON! I thought Monsiour Duffy was pretty good!

That's one less show I'll watch on GSN.....

Not only is Patrick out, but Crystal has also been replaced. HollwoodJunket went to a taping and they posted the following.

Boy, if those quips about the pace of the game make it to broadcast, Karn gets some style points.

Note the link is not a video, but just a blog post.

Example questions: “This ‘B’ was a favorite family dog” (Answer: “Benji”), “This ‘I’ is a great cold snack” (Answer: “ice cream”). Winner must answer three correct.
I hope those are just poor examples the author came up with himself to make the point about answers starting with B-I-N-G-O.  Because as trivia questions, they're monumentally poor, approaching the poorest ever written.

"Beethoven" was a favorite family dog.  So's Brian on Family Guy.  Punky Brewster owned "Brandon the Wonder Dog" (named for NBC programming chief Brandon Tartikoff) and Jonny Quest's dog was named Bandit.  Not only that, but there was a farmer had a dog, and Bingo was his name-o.  And that's without looking any others up.

The questions on the show are always "gotta be one answer" questions.

Yeah, my personal favorite was "What 'G' state..."

I know there was more to the question than that, but I didn't hear it because I was too busy thinking "Why the hell do they need to hear more of the question before they buzz in?"

Interesting change to the bonus game, though there's obviously something missing from the blogger's description of it.  I don't see anyone picking 55 numbers off of a 75-number board for $100K.

Wait, wait, I think I get it.  You start by picking a number out of the 15 in the "B" row.  Avoid the wrecking balls, and you can risk what you've won for a pick in the next column.  Go across all five, and you've got the $100K.  Say, do we actually have a semi-interesting risk/reward bonus game of chance here?

If there are, in fact, 20 wrecking balls on the board, I'd imagine the distribution would have to go something like this: B-1, I-2, N-3, G-4, O-10.
