Yeah, having learned the hard way why Memorex DVDs suck (this particular one recorded the show tonight, but refused to finalize when done!), I would be more than happy to work out a small trade w/anyone who recorded the season premiere, preferrably to DVR for best quality...send me an e-mail, and we'll talk.

I think you can still watch an unfinalized disc in the player that it was recorded on. What you could do is dub it on to a tape at high speed and redub for posterity (or however long dvd's last) on a diff. brand dvd.

When my old DVD burner gave me fits, I didn't notice whether one brand was better than another. I did find it interesting, though that my current one recommends Maxell, TDK and even Verbatim, but not Memorex. They didn't say why.
