France/French Incident
« on: September 04, 2008, 07:52:13 PM »
last week tom made a reference to Dick Martin about not being able to use France for French. I'm assuming that was a little aside about the infamous incident. How long ago did it happen?

You sir, deserve a gold star for that one :)

Am I the only one, or does anybody else think that the France/ French incident wasn't that funny?

Fun Fact To Make You Feel Old: Syndicated Jeopeardy has allowed champs to play until they lose longer than they've retired them after five days.

If instead of getting the giggle fits, (and Dick baiting him at every turn) Tom had played it straight, this moment would not be nearly as well-known as it was.

To me, it's not nearly as funny as many people make it out to be.
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

I think that, similar to a giggle fit, it's hard to know whether or not someone will be amused until they watch it.

I find the bit very tedious. When I finally got it see it a couple months ago, all I kept thinking was "Okay, got the point. Can we just get on with the game?"

I hereby retract that initial assertion.  What are your thoughts on world peace?

Better yet, those "Bert Convy" clips they had on GSN Live a couple weeks ago rated better than the French Incident!
