Hello folks,

Two Wheel Questions.

Would anybody know who was the artist of the "I Feel Lucky" (if that is the correct title) song used when Vanna White was introduced around 1988.

Also would anybody know who was the artist that sang "New York, New York, On The Town" as heard in the openings on the Radio City New York tour also back in 1988, also I am looking for the exact version which was actually used on the show (if anybody knows which version it is).

Any info is greatly appreciated.

That was actually "I'm a Wheel Watcher," their promotional song in the late 80s.

That was actually "I'm a Wheel Watcher," their promotional song in the late 80s.

As far as the artist, that would be Kool & The Gang, as "I'm a Wheel Watcher" was a take-off on "I'm a Girl Watcher". Pat Sajak reportedly hated this song.

The original group for "I'm a Girl Watcher" was the O'Kaysions, a North Carolina group (beach music style)who had their only hit with that song in 1968. I just wanted to clear up any potential misunderstanding.

Also, Jimmy Buffett had a song about Let's Make a Deal.  His career's managed to do OK.

There are the parodies of course too.  Weird Al "Lost on Jeopardy!" and got "Locked in the Closet With Vanna White".  And another classic Wheel parody, "Please, Vanna, Pick Me A Letter" that often appears on Dr. Demento.

Oh, I almost forgot another one -- "My Name Is Not Merv Griffin".
