I'm posting this here since it this deals specifically with a show and not GSN itself.

During the 11:30 CST showing of MGPM I heard some think music I've never heard before.  It wasv well... disco groovy.  It was played during the fourth question of the night.  Does anyone have a copy of this?

I've never heard it, but could this be the think music that comes from Money Maze cues? I remember reading something about that think cue being more upbeat than the "traditional" ones.
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

The "Money Maze" "Crow's Nest" cue was only used for a week on the daytime show along with a rhythm track from Score's "Tachlen".

The cue he's thinking of sounds like harem music (when it was first played Charles asked "Why is the new music Persian?"), and it was used during the first half of 1976 as the fourth cue in the cue rotation. There was also a slower version which was even more mystical.

I must be going nuts -- I'd have sworn that music was used during 1978, not 1976 (although I know it was used then, since I've been hearing it for the last several weeks).  Was it or something like it used in '78, or am I just getting my years crossed up because GSN was airing both of them in 2000?

Cat Lindeen over at a.t.g-s in the good old days once described that cue as sounding like porno film music (and he's right).

1976 is also the year when One of the old MG cue is retired and the Cowbell cue come to take its place
