Straight off the presses...on or about Dec 12th, TPIR is going to air a prime-time special commemorating Bob's 80th birthday, with special $100,000 showcases, cake, speeches, etc...no further info available at this time, but I just thought y'all would like to know. :-)

From CBS.com

*Please Note: The next $1,000,000 Specials will be as follows: November 6 will be open to general ticket holders only as "CBS Celebrates Bob Barker's 80th Birthday." November 7 and 8 will be by invitation only for military and college groups.

And they finally gave in.

You can now order tickets online.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Thank goodness Barker had the foresight to plan for his 80th birthday to fall on a Friday for primetime clearance purposes.

Way to think outside the box, Robert.  While you're at the Goodson offices, tell them they should use families on that new Fast Company game they're developing.

Agreed on the college group issue.

The military show should be good.

The Jury's out on the Birthday show. I think a full hour (half games/half clips) would be great.

Wonder why no Birthday show for his 75th?

I dunno....SB did say he's the first 80 year old man to host a game show, so that might be it.

Since the show is for Bob's B'day, I think the only clips we will see are Bob interacting with contestants.

Too bad, they won't show clips with him and the previous models.

Or will they...

According to TheProf, our own TVRandy will be the announcer on the primetime shows. While Rod is missed, it's good to see the bosses agreeing that Randy is doing a great job.
This isn't a plug, but you can ask me about my book.
