New Year's Marathons!
« on: December 04, 2008, 05:34:34 PM »
GSN will once again have a marathon of The $100,000 Pyramid on New Year's Eve. Unlike the past two years, GSN will air episodes from 1985 and 1988. The episodes are listed at Buzzerblog. This marathon runs from 9:00am-6:00pm.

And once again this year, they will air a Let's Make A Deal marathon on New Year's Day. They will air the 70's version. This marathon will run from 9:00am-3:00pm. After that they will air the 3 Play it Back specials again from 3:00pm-6:00pm.

Speaking of "Play It Back", it's a girl - Ava Rhea Economopoulous, born on October 20.

Thanks, Don. Now I want another season of Lingo just to see you get on there and give that as a word.

Didn't Lingo just use five-letter words?

They used a seven-letter word in a playoff once. CURRENT. The contestants succeeded in getting the first two and last two letters up on the board first, which made for some amusing television.

At last check, the French version, "Motus", was up to eight or nine letter words...

Would probably approve.
I suppose you can still learn stuff on TLC, though it would be more in the Goofus & Gallant sense, that is (don't do what these parents did)"- Travis Eberle, 2012

Yeah, but the host apparently doesn't.

You had it cached, so it didn't have to try to get it from the server.

Sorry to bump the thread, but in checking the episode numbers, and matching them against the airdates from Xanfan's episode guide, I've found the airdates for the $100,000 Pyramid Marathon:

Shelley Smith & Soupy Sales: 12/1/87

Didi Conn & Howard Morton: 12/11/85

Audrey Landers & Nathan Cook: 1/19/88 ($100K Win)

Vicki Lawrence & Dick Cavett: 1/21/86

Betty White & David Graf: 9/16/87

Markie Post & Brian Mitchell: 11/5/87 ($100K Win)

Anne Bloom & Jamie Farr: 4/7/86

Florence Henderson & Terry Lester: 9/1/86

Markie Post & LeVar Burton: 11/25/85

I have the Wednesday-Friday episodes of that week on tape...unless something really interesting happened on Monday, there's a couple of other eps from that week that are really good (definitely the Friday ep with three ties).
When you're at the grocery game and you hear the beep, think of all the fun you could have at "Crazy Rachel's Checkout Counter!"

First up, nice to see some 85's and 86's. Promise fulfilled for a fresh marathon. Most happy.

Second, just got done with that 86 episode, and... check me, but is that "Marc Cherry" contestant the same one I'm thinking of (Golden Girls, Desperate Housewives, etc.)? Age some hair off and take of the glasses, and it matched the IMDB picture, I think.
Brian Sapinski

Just Brian Sapinski... for now
