Dave Rueprecht is on the Nintendo channel for those own Wii's. Dave is hosting a Supermarket/Iron Chef gameshow promoting Personal Trainer  Cooking on the DS. It's on the first page of videos.

Yes, Dave said he enjoyed the shoot. The "Personal Trainer" is a cool device for foodies - seemingly billions of recipes, and full explanations about cooking for the clueless (what is a "medium flame" on the stove, etc.). It even generates a shopping list to take to the store for any of the recipes.

And remember, when you hear the BEEP.....

It is pretty neat. They also take advantage of the DS microphone; while you're going through the step-by-step, you can say "Continue!" to go on, or (something else, I don't remember) to repeat the previous instruction.

I'm always interested to see how people try to use gaming systems for practical purposes. This is one of the first apps I've seen that really nails it.

Great clip.  It just seems natural to see David in a store where people are running around.  :)

For those with a Wii, and a DS...there is a downloadable demo of the Cooking...well....app from the Nintendo Channel.
When you're at the grocery game and you hear the beep, think of all the fun you could have at "Crazy Rachel's Checkout Counter!"
