We're up to Day 4...and I see(according to Wiki) that Art James filled in for Wood also?

I heard this batch is "new" to GSN, how can that be? They've had Dawson Feud from Day 1 on that channel, right?

They had but they started out with the syndie Dawson version, Rod never sub-announced on the syndie version, in fact there were no subsitute announcers in the syndie version w/Dawson. Anyhow, GSN didn't start airing the ABC daytime version until towards the end of the 'winnie' era in 1996 along with Beat the Clock '79 and vintage TPIR. But by the time the Love Connection reruns came along, they stopped at March 1982 but the 5:00pm airings began at the January 10, 1983 episode IIRC.

This is the first I knew of Rod sub announcing on the Dawson version, always knew of his few weeks filling in for Gene on the Combs version about 10 years later.  As for Art, he filled in on the Combs version.

As it turned out, Rod only did one week of shows for the Dawson version back in 1982.
