Game Show Quiz
« on: March 24, 2009, 10:44:53 PM »
This place has been occupying my free time as of late. Sporcle.com has hundreds of different quizzes you can take. Everything from  NBA teams to corporate logos is here. The premise is the same for each. You get a time limit, and a list to fill out. Right answers, when typed correctly, automatically fill themselves in (i.e. no pressing enter). There's a time limit, as well as an "I Give Up" button, so if you have a few extra minutes, it passes the time. Somebody created a game show quiz, which, to the average viewer, looks to be a moderate challenge.

/Almost Finished in 1:42.
//Then realized I didn't know the original NTT host
///can anybody say monkey wrench?

EDIT: Found one asking for every Price is Right Pricing Game- enjoy the marathon!

Got the hosts in 1:38, and went 66-37 on the pricing games.

I thank you for a new addicition...I recommend the quizzes for SNL Weekend Update anchors, Emmy winners for Outstanding Drama, and Simpsons characters.

/You mean to tell me there isn't a game show for stuff like this?!!

Thanks a lot. Now everytime I don't finish a set in time, all I'm gonna hear is, "An unfinished list is unfinished business". :)

Maybe Sporcle.com should sponsor GSN's upcomming Money List.  That would fit in nicely.

As for the quizzes, the original NTT one's a tough one to crack so I avoided that one.  Got 64/103 pricing games.  If there's 103 games, how come they don't recognize Finish Line as a PG & why do Blank Check & Check Game are listed as 2 seperate games when they appear to be the same game to me?  I don't get that.  Anyways, it was fun though.

I gave up after 50 pricing games. That was exceedingly hard for me for some reason, the brain hurts.

I did get all 24 hosts though. It helps to have scoured the EoTVGS multiple times.

Curious: it allows for alternate answers.  Presumably, this is for spelling errors, but it can have other uses.  I typed in one of the male hosts for Win Lose or Draw, but it gave me credit... displaying as the answer the female host.

90/103 on the pricing games list, and I take mild issue and strong issue with two of the ones I didn't get.

(This is less a function of being a big TPIR fan than of my need to absorb lists of things.)

I believe I know which ones, and I also take offense.

Were they Balance Game II and Blank Check?

Finish Line is missing from the list altogether.

Quasi-SPOILER warning, if you don't want to read me talking about some of what I missed.

Blank Check was one, but I remembered the two Balance Games. I think that Bullseye I and Double Bullseye are not two separate games, despite the big change in format.

Considering one of the sources used, it is understandable that he missed it.

Yet, considering the first source that was cited, it isn't because all he needs to do is click on a link to another page.
