Some interesting GSN developments here.  Where to start:

garbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbagegarbage

Can any armchair psychologists out there explain to me why it is that I still hit unignore every time I see this kid post something? I know it's going to be garbage, and yet, I still hit read post. Why?

Yes. It's the gawking-at-the-car-accident syndrome.
And because we know he's not going to SWAK! anybody.
That'll be 5 cents for the house call.
Wasn't the big bundle of $$$ they awarded during future tapings (which wouldn't have to be paid out if the shows weren't televised) a factor in the program's swift removal from the schedule? Or was that simply a theory someone put out there?
Mostly the latter, since that's not the sort of thing that's going to turn up in an official FOX press release.

I'm really not sure what to think of The Rich List.  On the one hand, it is a Q&A which (for the most part, from what we've seen) requires actual knowledge about factual things rather than guessing about popular answers the way Family Feud does and the way Greed did far too often.  If you're watching at home, you're shouting answers at the screen, and that's always a good thing.

On the other hand, there's just not that much game there.  It's like Hot Potato with all the good stuff taken out, and how much good stuff was there in Hot Potato to begin with?  And frankly, from what I've seen, the questions (I'm sorry, "lists") are generally far too easy for, say, a Jeopardy-caliber player. (Name fifteen vice presidents to win the top prize?  Really? With no clock?)  That makes me think that they're casting, Fifth Grader style, to avoid having good players play their game.  I'm always going to have a problem with that.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

The three-of-a-kind element was pretty neat. Plus, there was the theme music that made me laugh and OF COURSE! Bill Cullen. But, yes, your point is well taken. The lack of a clock is a puzzler for me as well.
Didn't somebody post a clip of the horse race scene on Family Guy where all the horses were named after failed FOX series, many of which didn't get 10 episodes? It tells me that the programming department there is either comically impatient or riddled with ADD. And they put The Rich List's premiere against ABC's Lost and CBS's Criminal Minds, two strong shows. Lost had two years to establish its audience, and CM had made the Top 30 in its first season and has kept going up. Besides, I would have thought that all a show on Wednesdays at 9 had to do was make it past Christmas, when Mama Idol Results Show would take care of things.

I honestly don't remember for sure, but wasn't the Mama Idol Results Show the lead-in, and it STILL got cornholed in the ratings?
Rich List aired November 1, 2006. Idol doesn't start until the following January, so Season Six didn't start airing until January 16, 2007. Granted, TRL's actual lead-in (Bones) has grown to be a solid show in and of itself, but when Rich List debuted, it was only ranked 50th in audience.

It was the first minute of the first Family Guy when it returned in 2005.  Hulu has you covered.

There's this clip, and the horse race scene being referenced was from a newer episode first run a few weeks back, and it includes some newer FOX "bombs" (ex: Back To You, Til Death, etc.)

Rich List aired November 1, 2006.
It was heavily promoted during the 2006 World Series.  And by heavily there were times I thought I was watching a FOX infomercial with elements of baseball thrown in.

I know what you're talking about. The announcer ended with "Still limping around is 'Til Death", or something like that. Clever gag. I believe it was the "Family Gay" episode.
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Sadly, I think this horse is more attractive than Sarah Jessica Parker.

You and I don't agree on a lot of things, but you got this right 100%. Maybe a week of shows at 8pm(like DOND and Regis Millionaire did for their first shows) would be a better ratings indicator. What was on again "Rich List" that night anyhow? I want to say it might have been against "Shatner Money", but I could be wrong. Something tells me this was probably up against DOND imho.

Hey, that ties in with this, send Fred Roggin that page, I'm sure he'd enjoy it, being a NBC Universal employee, like ya know(KNBC)

/Gsn Live is playing a new came called Triple Play
