If you know game shows, you know of Mandel Ilagen. And if you are Mandel, you know everyone in game shows. More importantly, if you know Mandel, you know one of the nicest, coolest TV pros who is also a huge fan of the genre. As a friend, we were together the night before and he was there on my first day sub-announcing TPiR.

From creating "Half-off", to sparking, developing and programming for Fremantle and Fox Reality, and helping devise the format for my beloved TPiR-Live, Mandel is also quite the keyboardist. You can see him tickle the ivories Friday when the show offers a baby grand. Congrats, buddy!!

(Come to think of it, "That's Not Dirty!" sounds like a great name for a game show.)

I seem to remember a category from the unfortunate ABC You Don't Know Jack game called "Things That Sound Dirty But Aren't."  I don't know why that's always stuck with me, but this just reminded me of that.

Go, Mandel!  You were great!  Nice to hear the piano version of "Splendido" -- and great  that you got to play the show to commercial.  Must have been a blast.  Again, congratulations!
