I was watching TPIR yesterday when Mandel hammered out some of the show's signature tunes. It got me to wondering... is any of this sheet music kicking around in a book somewhere? I went looking for the sheet music for a personal fave, "Fort Boyard", and turned it up in a collection; however I didn't want to spend what they were asking for (around $200 IIRC).

Barring that, does anyone know of some programs that would convert media files into sheet music?

The Jeopardy! Book by Alex Trebek & Peter Barsocchini, published in 1990, features a piano arrangement of the Jeopardy! theme after the table of contents. A MIDI file made from this arrangement has been widely posted on MIDI sites.

When I was in marching band in high school (1988), one of the tunes we played at almost every football game was Changing Keys. Something had to keep the fans entertained since our football team scored a grand total of 6 points that season. Not 6 per game, 6 for the entire season.

This thread from ATGS mentions that the sheet music for Wipeout's theme has been released as well, in a sheet music book called "TV Showstoppers".

Save for MAYBE a MIDI file, I'd be shocked to see an app that could do this remotely reliably.

One touchdown, during the last game of the season. The point after kick hit the base of the uprights and back towards the line of scrimmage. If the PAT was successful, we would've won 7-6. Instead, we lost in OT 12-6. This was part of my alma mater's 51 game losing streak from 1984 to 1989. TWO entire graduating classes went their high school career without a varsity victory in football. The head coach's career record was 0-40, if I remember correctly. There are two prime examples of epic fail, kids.

Isn't Changing Keys the title of several game show themes? WoF and $100k Pyramid both come to mind.

Are you absolutely sure about the Pyramid theme having that title? I have NEVER heard that. Are you mixing it up with "Tuning Up" from the '70s show?

The first time I downloaded a copy of that theme, (I believe from the old 80's TV Themes site,) it was labelled as "Changing Keys". Granted, this is the only place I can remember seeing it, and it's very probable that this was a mislabel, but it's how I've always known it.

...especially given that the $25KP theme is entirely in A-flat major, without a key change in sight.

I remember seeing this when I checked it out from my local library about 20 years ago.

Apparently, the Amazon listing of Peter Barsocchini's books seems to confirm to me that the same man who co-wrote this book (along with a Merv Griffin autobiography) can be credited as the "creator" (by virtue of writing the screenplay) of a certain made-for-cable movie musical which happens to be set in a high school.

\don't ask me how I know that (you'd probably figure it out anyway;))
