Pacdude Games Game Show Awards
« on: June 08, 2009, 03:07:49 PM »
Hi, folks. I'm running a special piece on my blog, the Fast Money Round, asking for votes on the top game show things of 2008-2009, like GSN did. However, we'll give the awards out to the actual winners and not who shows up to our award ceremony. Please, if you have a few minutes, take the time to vote.

Thanks!

Well Pacdude, at least YOU were smart to know who should be nominated in some categories (almost)!

I won't mention who my choices are until the results are in, though.....

Cordially,
Tammy
In Loving Memory: Dolores "Roxanne" Rosedale (1929-2024), Peter Marshall (1926-2024), & Chuck Woolery (1941-2024)

This is a blatant rip off of the Don Howard Awards.  :P

First, no one likes using the term "rip off." I like to say "homage."

Plus, the Howards are the Oscars to my Cable Ace's. Believe me, Don Howard still takes center square.

Don Howard does not mind one bit and has just cast his ballot for the campaign.
Pacdude created his own thread and even set up his own special link.
That's going to far more effort than my lazy butt is capable of.
Looking forward to the results in two weeks' time, my friend.

I just cast my votes. I feel GSN should have had a "Classic Host Award" for those who are retired but still with us, like Wink, Chuck, Geoff, Jim Lange, Tom Kennedy, Peter Marshall. Since Barker and Monty Hall got their own awards, it would have a nice moment to let these other guys be in the spotlight. I'll be checking thev results of this poll.

It took me a little bit to choose for the Game Show of the year vote..

There was no differentiating between the 60-Minute NBC DoND and the 30-Minute Syndie version.  I might have given the nod for the syndie version if the 2 versions were separated -- only for the sake that the 30-minute version was a vast improvement over the "30-minute-version-milked-into-a-60-minute-time-slot-with-stupid-little-stunts-mixed-in" version.

We've got a second round of voting, to narrow down the winners from a group of less-crappy shows!
