Yep, to my way of thinking, these are really a stretch. The former moreso than the latter, since charades-on-TV is hardly an original concept. :)

And of course this whole thread is an exercise in YMMV.  Though I agree that neither should count, I can see a lot more of a direct line between Showoffs and Body Language.  Same producer, same general celebrity-civilian structure.  In fact, if you think in terms of the evolution of Password, Body Language is essentially Showoffs Plus.

Still, It's Your Bet should absolutely have counted, so Jimmy Narz would appear to be our winner.

Exactly.  In addition to producer and celebrity-civilian structure, Body Language had the same endgame that Showoffs originally had, except that the first part was limited to 10 words, and it was $100 per word multiplied by 10 for getting all three in round 2 rather than $1 per word and 10/100/1000x for each Round 2 word.

Jamming my Devil's Advocate hat down around my ears, I'll point out two things: one, BL had one fewer celebrity on a side than Showoffs, and two, if we're going to say "close enough" there, then I can apply all of those attributes to the original Chain Reaction and Go.

(Which proves nothing more than Matt's point about M's V-ing.)

Is Dick Clark in the running for the 6-revival club?

For him, I have these:
* The $10,000 Pyramid (moving to ABC in 1974 six weeks after CBS canned it)
* The $50,000 Pyramid
* The (New) $25,000 Pyramid
* The second coming of The (New) $25,000 Pyramid {after Blackout didn't work out}
* The Challengers (update of The Who, What Or Where Game)
* It Takes Two (albeit brief fun on FAM)

As it was a companion show to the CBS counterpart, The $100,000 Pyramid is not included in the above listing.
Missing Links wasn't included since it simply went off NBC on a Friday and reappeared the following Monday on ABC with Dick Clark as the new host.

I know this is arbitrary, and it wasn't my thread, but I just have a problem with counting the same guy hosting a revival of his own show more than once.

To my reasoning, if you can count him hosting one revival of his own show, you can count him hosting more than one, unless I'm misunderstanding your statement.

No, you understand, we just disagree.  As I said, I realize my way is arbitrary.

Yeah, of the four versions of the Pyramid you cite, I'd count the first $25K show, at best, and only that. Switching networks does not a revival make. Anything from Original Recipe on through the $50K show counts as the original run, to my eyes.

Does Pyramid at least win for the most title changes over its runs?
No, I guess that would go to The Match Game, wouldn't it?
I am just a big honkin' jackpot wad of epic fail.

Well, to be fair, it's close.

$10k Pyramid
$20k Pyramid
$25k Pyramid
$50k Pyramid
New $25k Pyramid
$100k Pyramid
Pyramid
(Whatever the new revival will be called if it makes it and it is different.)

So that's 7 or 8 if you count the last one.

Match Game 73
Match Game 74
Match Game 75
Match Game 76
Match Game 77
Match Game 78
Match Game 79
Match Game
Match Game PM

So that's 9. 10 if you want to count the MGHSH.

I do count MGHSH plus the show's original title of The Match Game.
Match Game 2 and What The Blank? don't count as they were pilots.

If you want to get all weirdy wonky about it, the original series was The Match Game.

I was making a point to not count that. I just don't see how adding a "The" to the beginning makes it a different title. YMMV.

/Reminds me of the "Carpenters" vs. "The Carpenters" discussions.
//According to Richard: "It's just 'The'."
