It looks like Drew's Blog is going to be comment-free for a while. Apparently, things got out of hand after his last post. He actually goes to bat for most of the Roadies, too.
And we have our old buddy Mighty Dyckerson to thank for it.

Blogger normally allows for the moderation of posts to be allowed onto the site. I have done this many a time in the past.

Let's see, I can sit there and sift through a stack of "OMG DREW SUX BRING BACK MY DADDEH BARKER!!!111!!!!" every day to pick out the few coherent comments, or I can just say "nope, screw you, no comments."

I know what I'd pick.

The former, right? :P  "DADDEH BARKER" will now be my new band's name.

And remembering what Dyck used to do on Medialine... I'm curious what he posted as well, Steve.

I can only imagine...

New turntable pic. Snazzy...now it appears that the showcase sign display is gone, so it doesn't look like an LED after all. Perhaps a magnetic sign or hook of some sorts? The speculation is actually kinda fun. :-)

I lurk at B-Roll.net. He had been [still is?] known for making smart-a** comments over there.

From what I read, it was a racial remark.

I understand he called Roger and the fellows who run golden-road.net "fags".

Not the proper thing to post on someone else's blog, but it's not the end of the world.

I don't think you can make any assumptions based on this picture. Whatever was there has pretty obviously been covered up with Photoshop or the like.

I didn't feel like the 16x9 framing issues were so bad that the home base set piece needed to be replaced (I assume this is a big reason behind the change,) but I sure do like what they've done with the replacement. Clay got it right on the nose about keeping the spirit of the original. You could interchange just about anything from the current set with the old set and it wouldn't look out of place.

I wonder if they're going to bother to spend the money to update game props in the near future. The "200_ does '70s retro" look makes the '80s-designed ones look really out of place. Any Number looks especially dated.

I'm going on about 50% speculation here, but I don't think that had anything to do with it.

That said, if my hunch is right, I think this might end up looking alright.  (I still think it's goofy, mind you...but "goofy" and "looks alright" don't have to be mutually exclusive.)

A couple of notes:

1) Now that Drew knows Blogger a little better, he's allowing comments again. The post with the offending comments has been deleted, but the pictures it had will be reposted shortly.

2) In order to keep the show from being associated with his more...ahem..."adult" brand of humor, Drew now has two Twitter accounts.
