Let's Make a Deal Host Audition
« on: July 04, 2009, 09:43:23 PM »
I saw my aunt today, who recently attended a taping of The Price is Right on June 4th (specifically, the later taping). She told me about the whole experience, and how she absolutely hated waiting in line for 4 1/2 hours, but the last part of her story caught my attention: they filmed a Let's Make a Deal audition right after the taping, using the Price set. Monty Hall was present and took questions from the audience.

She couldn't remember the name of the person who auditioned; she did tell me it was somebody from the Fox News Channel, and that this person was "really bad".
Cheers,
Mr. Brown, Esq.

The only person on Fox News Channel that I could ever imagine hosting a game show would be Steve Doocy of the Fox & Friends morning show.  Steve did local TV back in Washington, D.C., I think if memory serves me right, he worked for many years on the NBC affiliate WRC-TV 4 and after being let go there, I think he ended up at the FOX affiliate WTTG-TV 5 for a little bit before dropping off the radar and eventually getting on cable TV.

From what I remember of Steve, he was pretty funny and quick witted back in his local TV days, I know I at least remember him that way.

I just don't think I can come up with anyone else @ FNC that would have the cohones to attempt a game show.

Mike Jerrick did a game show pilot for ABC back in the '80's, and since his syndicated talk show for Fox is coming to an end, he could be available.  I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Well... there's Steve... but coulda been one of those hosts of Red Eye... idk... just a wild guess. If anything, if it was bad, put my money that it was a Red Eye host. I've seen the show... it's not exactly the greatest thing on the planet :P And this is comin from a FNC fan.... kinda.... sorta... well, I only watch one guy on there.

That would certainly give a new meaning to "What's Pissing Off Steve Edwards This Week?"  :)

Man, that would suck. He has a history of opening up mysterious things and finding nothing inside. :)

EDIT: Of course, Chris beat me to it. ;)

On the other hand, he might make a drawing that explicitly reveals what's behind Door #1 before you make a decision. :)

And when that contestant wins nothing, Geraldo will get socked in the nose, something he knows about as well.

You know, I can picture Wayne doing a good job with this. He just might be the perfect host for LMAD.

Wayne's one of the only things I like about "Don't Forget the Lyrics". Of course, though, it is a musical show, and we know Wayne loves to sing.

But LMAD does seem up his alley. I could see him doing great with it. I hope Monty will think so.
