Wayne's one of the only things I like about "Don't Forget the Lyrics". Of course, though, it is a musical show, and we know Wayne loves to sing.

But LMAD does seem up his alley. I could see him doing great with it. I hope Monty will think so.

Word on the street is CBS is main decision maker on this.  Not Fremantle and not Monty.  Source is someone who auditioned and made first cut.

So here's something that puzzles me: have they green-lit this yet? I'm not understanding why they're going through an elaborate host search if they're not committed to going to series.

It is getting closer and closer to September... and the trades would probably hear earlier than the affiliates - but CBS hasn't posted anything about the replacement for the slot left by GL that I've seen.

That's what I originally said, too, but then someone brought up a good point - they don't necessarily HAVE to have anything ready to go on September 21st. CBS could easily plug the slot with reruns of their remaining soaps or whatnot until a suitable replacement is found.

/Wouldn't mind seeing old Y&R episodes with "The Hoff"

I think it's interesting that it doesn't say anything about an audition or that the contestants won't win any prizes... and that they have two show times. Is this possibly more than an audition, like say a pilot, for instance?

It seems odd to me to agree with someone from Golden-Road.net since I butted heads pretty often over there, but you're right.  After how they went "off the board" with selecting Drew on Price I'm not surprised about this.  As a matter of fact, this comes second hand from the "TopTrader" himself.

Or until they realize how cheaply they can plug in encore presentations that they'll scrap the idea of the original game show productions.
No, if Sep 21 arrives and we're treated to Soap Classics, I don't think they'll be a stop gap. That'll be the fare until they give the hour to the affils.

I'm sure CBS will have no trouble coming up with another no-talent has-been comedian with no acumen for game shows to fill the spot. Hey, Rosie O'Donnell is available. For that matter so is Dennis Miller.

Anybody notice who the announcer was for the pilot? Jonathan Magnum, whose most prominent job was on The Drew Carey Show and Drew Carey's Green Screen Show.

Is this 1990 all over again, but instead of ABC becoming the Drew Carey Network, it's CBS? Next thing you know, Kathy Kinney will be hosting Pyramid.

Don't give them ideas.

On second thought, out of character she might not be half bad.
