They can hold the Legends luncheon there. That oughta save a bundle of money.
Bev and I would love to dish with Lee Menning while drooling over a Big Mac.

Oh, please. The luncheon is a far more upscale event than that.

Good thing there's a Denny's in the area now too.

You're right.  A Whopper will do quite nicely.

I was disappointed to find that many Southern California McDonald's don't have the sweet tea.  I'm afraid that's a deal breaker.

Who or what is "B*** H***" and what's the point in censoring it?

Bob Hope, and for the same reason the people of San Francisco refused to refer to the football stadium at Candlestick Point as "Monster Park."

I'm OK with Monty Hall Drive in Palm Springs. I like Monty and admire his talent and entrepreneurial drive. I'm even OK with B** H*** Park across from the (soon to be defunct) NBC studios in Burbank -- but you can't name every dang thing within five miles of Toluca Lake after Mr. H***.

How anyone can drink that stuff amazes me.  It's like sugar with some tea.

Precisely, he says, grinning.

It's really a southern thing.

Yet it is not "iced tea" as we have up here in Canuckistan.  I was on the way home on a US road trip last year, and pulled into Mickey Dee's to get a bite to eat.  I got "sweet tea" and thought it was the same as "iced tea", but no luck.  After 10 packs of sugar, I gave up to get what I was looking for.

My GSC food memory was not paying $25 for a box lunch, and then travelling with half of the other Canadians present for Subway.

Ryan.

/and by half I mean of of the other two Canucks
//Obgs: I was on a game show and I drink Iced Tea.  Does that count?

Interesting.  Here, "iced tea" is just tea with ice in it.   It is typically assumed to be unsweetened unless it's specifically referred to by flavor, as in "raspberry iced tea".  And yes, those can be pretty darned sweet.

Meanwhile, if you're putting sugar into it after it's cold, it's too late.

Ah!  Good to know for next time.  I rarely drink pop, so I find most fast food joints up here give me the choice of iced tea, iced tea or iced tea.  US Wendy's usually have pink lemonade, and the one highlight of my sole White Castle visit was the Hi-C fruit punch.

Ryan.

It's really not. I'm hardly Southern, and sweet is the only way I can drink the stuff. :)
