I was on the way home on a US road trip last year, and pulled into Mickey Dee's to get a bite to eat. I got "sweet tea" and thought it was the same as "iced tea", but no luck. After 10 packs of sugar, I gave up to get what I was looking for.[/quote]
Interesting. Here, "iced tea" is just tea with ice in it. It is typically assumed to be unsweetened unless it's specifically referred to by flavor, as in "raspberry iced tea". And yes, those can be pretty darned sweet.
Meanwhile, if you're putting sugar into it after it's cold, it's too late.
